Downtown Guelph Surprise Proposal | Bethany + Sara

When Sara approached me about shooting her surprise proposal to Bethany I was SO excited. We schemed for weeks about how to get her downtown without giving away the surprise. The morning of, Sara told Bethany she had to run an errand before they went out for their date day, but really she was meeting up with me to pass off the champagne and do a mini shoot with the ring. I'm so glad we made the time to do this; the images we got were totally worth the little bit of extra time and planning!

Sara left to pick Bethany up for their brunch date and I went downtown to find an inconspicuous parking spot and hide under the bridge... like a photographer troll. Sara and I kept in contact via text (and maybe some snaps) so I was ready for their arrival. Once they started walking across the bridge, I snuck up behind them and documented the magic unfolding. Proposals are definitely my new favourite thing to shoot <3

Styled Bridal Session with G

Would you believe I paid $16 dollars for this wedding dress? True story. I found it while I was volunteering at a thrift store. Every time I'm in a thrift store I look at the wedding dresses. Usually they are super tacky, or ripped and covered in fake blood from dressing zombie brides in Halloweens past. Not this time.

I've had this dress hanging in my office for months while it patiently waited for me to make a plan to shoot it. And then one day G came over I asked her to try it on and would you believe it looked like it was tailored to her!? A plan was born.

Originally I wanted to try vape and flash and sunsets and none of those things really worked out. But I'm totally ok with that, because these images are *hearty eyes*.

S + G wedding shower

On Sunday, we showered Steph & Gina with love.

In the months leading up to the wedding shower we worried that we wouldn't get everything finished on time. There were games to be designed, party favours to craft, cupcakes to bake and balloons to order. But as guests started to arrive everything fell into place. The day was so full it flew by. I can only imagine the whirlwind you two experienced. I hope in 50 years, when you're empty nesters (wink), you can look back on today and feel the love and excitement all over again.

I can't wait for the big day <3
