Ok. I sincerely apologize to all my previous brides/grooms, but this has by far been the most fun I've had at a wedding! That's right; the wedding party played paintball in their fancy clothes!
I've known Krysha since Grade 7. We were friends back then but fell out of touch, as you often do with your friends from Grade 7. And, as we often do with our friends from Grade 7, we found each other again on social media years later!
Last year Krysha entered a wedding giveaway that myself and my photographer friend Jenn from Jennifer Blaak Photography, as well as videographer Amanda from Amaros Media put together. And she won! We fell in love with her love story about her and Terry <3
"My Aunt and Terry's mom were best friends when we were kids. I remember the day that we met. I told Terry the dirty version of that rhyme "See see my playmate" and the way he looked at me, he was smitten. Every time we saw each other it was obvious he had a huge crush on me. My dad teased me constantly. He carved our initials into a tree and he looked like he was diffusing a bomb! Just so careful to not go too far, no plus sign, no heart, just TC and KM. He looked so relieved when I approved. In high school we hung out a little, but since he was 2 grades behind me there was no way I was dating him! We went to youth group together and walked the long way, alone, to meet up with people afterwards. But I moved suddenly after grade 11 and we lost touch. I ended up getting married and having kids, he ended up in North Bay. My marriage ended in 2013. In August 2014 I ran into Terry in St. Thomas. Literally turned a corner and there he was. He hugged me and as soon as he did I thought "Oh, oh no." Our first date was August 26th and that was it. He's been an amazing partner, supporting me going back to school, starting a business, and dealing with the fallout from my abusive ex husband. My girls and I are so lucky to have him in our lives! He's just an amazing man!"
Every element of Krysha and Terry's wedding was unique and meaningful to them. These are my FAVOURITE weddings to photograph! Krysha's hair piece was a gorgeous rock that Terry used when he proposed to her. There's a hilarious story to the sandwich he got as a gift after the ceremony, but you'll have to ask Krysha about it haha. Friends and family playing an integral role in planning and execution of the day (friends BBQing, aunts making candy apples, etc.). The girls choosing all their own outfits. Krysha's tattoo made from drawings her girls made. This day and their life is so full of love and life. It was truly an honour to celebrate with you all <3
