It was pretty special to me that I got to photograph Jenn's proposal; she had photographed my proposal just a couple months earlier! We have grown to be photo besties over the years; we are each other's go-to when we are looking for a second shooter for a wedding, and often send referrals to each other when we aren't available for a job. I always look forward to working with her <3
When Brandon contacted me about shooting his proposal to Jenn, I had never met him before -- but I was expecting to hear from him! Jenn told me she wanted me to be the one to take photos of their proposal, and said she made it very clear to him as well 😅
I did however know how smitten she was with him; I remember the first time she told me about him, on our way to shoot a wedding together. I was so excited when he reached out to plan the surprise proposal photos!
Brandon decided to plan for the proposal to happen at the Dundas Driving Park. It was where he and Jenn had their first big walk and talk. Where they first started to understand how serious this thing was between them. And it was about to be where he asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. This is legit making me tear up as I write this 😭.
Brandon and I decided that we should do a separate proposal session from the engagement session, that way if Jenn wanted to participate in planning the session and choosing her outfit, she didn't have to feel like she missed out on that part! And I'm super glad we did it this way! We got some amazing sunset photos at their engagement session! I will link to those photos here once that blog post is up!
While I was hiding at the park waiting for Brandon, Jenn and D to arrive, I found a geocache! So naturally we had to sign the notebook and let them know they just got engaged. It was such a fun twist to the day!
